Course Repetition

Article (24)

First: Repeating a Failed Course:
- A student who fails a course must retake it and sit for the exam again.
- If passed after repetition, the actual grade obtained will be recorded, capped at a maximum of (83) equivalent to grade (B).
- The cumulative GPA will be recalculated, counting the course credits only once.
- All repetitions and grades are shown in the student’s detailed transcript.
- The student must pay the course fees as in summer registration; in special programs, equivalent fees apply.

Second: Repeating a Passed Course to Avoid Academic Dismissal:
- If a student’s cumulative GPA is below (2.0), they are placed on academic probation.
- The student may repeat a previously passed course to raise their GPA.
- The highest grade obtained from the repetitions will be recorded, capped at (83, grade B).
- The course must be from the same academic level or one level lower.
- There is no maximum number of such repetitions as long as the goal is raising GPA to (2.0).
- All repetitions and grades are shown in the transcript.
- The student pays the applicable fees (general or special programs).

Third: Repeating a Passed Course (Grade ≥ 2.0) for Improvement:
- A student with GPA ≥ 2.0 may repeat a course for improvement only if graduation requirements are not yet completed.
- The highest grade from all attempts will be recorded.
- The maximum allowed credit hours for improvement is (9 hours), whether for one or multiple courses.
- All repetitions and grades appear in the transcript.
- The student pays the required fees in both general and special programs.
